This is the recipe I used for our baking assignment:

Spiced apple and rhubarb muffins
450 g self-raising flour
200 g firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon mixed spice
125 g butter
180 ml buttermilk
2 eggs
1/2 x 410 g can pie apples
220 g finely chopped rhubarb
2 teaspoons cinnamon sugar

Preheat oven to moderately hot. Grease 12-hole muffin pan.
Sift flour, brown sugar and spices inte large bowl; rub in butter.
Stir in combined milk and eggs, then apple and rhubarb. Spoon
mixture into prepared pan; sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake
in moderately hot oven about 20 minutes.

Concerning the CAE exam

The information about the CAE exam has just been sent out to you and Jennifer Gosser-Duncan says that "All emails were successfully delivered". Anyway she wants you to check your e-mail now and check your spam box too in case the e-mail went there. Please make sure you save the document that has just been sent to you since it contains timetabling information, as well as results information. Moreover, Jennifer writes that "each candidate is given a secret code to check his/her results online". Please read your documents carefully so that you know what you are allowed to bring into the exam room with you!

April Fools!

Here is something quite interesting which gives an explanation to the expression in the heading, I quote:

A month with whole of eleven days missing. This was the time England shifted from Roman Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar, and the king of England ordered those 11 days to be wiped off the face of the month of September of 1752. (What couldn't a King do in those days?!) And yes, the workers worked for 11 days less, but got paid for the entire 30 days. And that's how "Paid Leave" was born. Hail the King!!!

Before that April is the first Month of the year. Even then people didn’t agree to use the Roman Julian Calendar and celebrated 1st April as a New Year then the King announced that, those who celebrate April as the New Year are fools… (April fools…)
Histories are really interesting!

Skandinaviska författare säljer bra i Frankrike!

«Un âge d'or.»

Immaculate=Free from stain or blemish; pure.
Dichotomy=Division into two usually contradictory parts or opinions/The phase of the moon, Mercury, or Venus when half of the disk is illuminated.

And a number of other that I am not able to remember right now.

Here is one of the comments:
"You cant even spell Tony Blair and even understand Ireland is not just Ireland but Northern Ireland is part of the UK and the currency is pounds, whilst Republic of Ireland is not part of the UK and the currency is Euros."
